Senior Parents: If your senior has not filled out the Final Senior Transcript Request form or the Future Plans/ Scholarships form they need to complete them today on Schoology. Go to the senior group and then click on resources to access the forms. They must be filled out before graduation.

Attention Junior Parents: Counselors will hold a rising senior meeting on Thursday, May 12th from 6-7 in the WHS Commons. All rising senior students and parents are encouraged to attend. Counselors will be going over important information for your senior year.
West Virginia State University will be in the commons on May 4th at lunch. They will be waiving the application fee, so if you have not applied to college or technical school, please speak with the representative and make plans for your future. May the 11th, the WVARNG CSMS will be hosting an open house, and we would like to invite all students and staff interested in joining us. Learn real life nursing skills and get your CPR Certification! Southern West Virginia Junior Nurse Academy is June 14 -16, 2022. The deadline for this opportunity is April 15, 2022. Current 9th grade students can apply if they are interested in a nursing career. The Academy will be held at WVU School of Nursing, Beckley WV. Tickets for Winfield High School's Prom will go on sale tomorrow, April 5th during the 2nd half of lunch. The cost will be $25 for an individual and $50 for a couple. Seniors will receive their ticket for free. Out of school guest forms can be picked up in the office and must be returned by Monday, April 25th for administrator approval. To guarantee a t-shirt size, the ticket must be bought by Friday, April 15th. Sophomores and freshman may only attend with a junior or senior. WHS Dance Team Clinic will be Thursday, April 14th from 6-8pm in the gym. Auditions will be Saturday, April 16th at 9am in the gym. For auditions, please wear a solid white shirt and black bottoms. Apply if you are interested in an Allied Health Field such as: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, Nursing, etc. Physicians are not considered an Allied Health Professional. The Winfield v Scott Regional Basketball game will be held on Tuesday, March 8 at 7:00 at Winfield High School. The doors will be open at 5:45. Tickets must be purchased online. The website is gofan.co. In the box under "Get Tickets Now" enter WVSSAC. Choose Winfield vs Scott as listed.
On Friday, March 3, 2022, the WHS Wrestling Team will be competing in the State Tournament at the Mountain Health Arena, formerly the Big Sandy Arena in Huntington. Proper procedures must be followed for students to be excused if they choose to attend the event. Students must have a ticket stub to receive a school excuse for 2nd, 3rd and 4th blocks. All students must have a parent note to be excused from first block if they are absent the full day. If students are being checked out for the event after first block no parent notes or calls will be accepted. Students must be physically signed out by a parent or guardian listed on the emergency card. All athletes must attend first block and provide a ticket stub to be able to practice spring sports.
