DESCRIPTION OF FACILITY

As a public institution serving secondary and post-secondary students, Putnam Career & Technical Center is part of the Putnam County Public School System and is under federal, state, and county jurisdiction with primary authoritative power exercised by the Putnam County Board of Education. There are six secondary only programs (including two high school equivalency programs), sixteen secondary/post-secondary programs and three post-secondary only programs enrolling full-time and part-time students.

The Putnam Career & Technical Center main campus site located in Eleanor, West Virginia, encompasses a 92,000 plus square foot handicap accessible structure comprised of three wings housing twenty secondary occupational classrooms/shops, two adult-only classrooms/labs, a dental clinic, administrative offices, a computer laboratory, a mini technology lab, a multipurpose/meeting room, a cafeteria, a faculty lunch room, conference room and student break areas.

The Putnam Career & Technical Center-Advanced Career Education extension campus located in Buffalo, West Virginia, is comprised of a 3,200 square foot instructional center housing the heavy equipment program classroom, learning resource center, lunchroom and administrative office. A 1,600 square foot multi-purpose structure is located adjacent to the instructional center. A construction field site utilized for the heavy equipment programs is located in Red House, West Virginia.
