Parents of students in 3-5, We are sending home a paper today with details about cyber safety lessons that we will be doing with students on Thursday. Please read through this info. If you wish to opt out, we need you to return the paper. Otherwise we do not need anything returned. Parents of 4th and 5th graders, you should have received a new paper this week from your child with details about the COSI trip on Friday. Fifth grade graduation begins at 6:00 in the gym this evening. Doors open at 5:45 for seating. You can enter through cafeteria side doors or the front doors. Programs will be out on the table as you enter the gym. Dinner will follow the graduation ceremony in the cafeteria. This is for all 5th grade students and immediate family members who have sent RSVPs. We are looking forward to celebrating this great group of students as their elementary journey is coming to a close.
Our Heritage Farm field trip is tomorrow. Wear class shirts and tennis shoes. Bring your disposable bagged lunch unless you ordered it from school. Pre-K students must have a parent attend. All other grades do not have to have a parent attend. Heritage Farm opens at 10:00 a.m. Parent tickets are $12.72 and you pay there. Talent show forms are due to Mr. Lyon tomorrow. This is a reminder that 3-5 graders have WVGSA this week. Tomorrow they take the math assessment and on Tuesday they will take the reading assessment. This week is also Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week at CES. Thanks to the staff for all of the ways you make school special for the students!
Tomorrow we will begin our 2026 WV General Summative Assessment with the writing portion of the test. Students in grades 3-5 will be given a prompt and they draft and submit their written responses to this prompt. This test is scored with the reading portion they will take on Tuesday to give us rankings of student proficiency in Reading Language Arts. Please be on time in the morning, well-rested, and ready to give it your all! Our students and teachers are ready! Have a good evening!
Today is the last day of afterschool tutoring for the year. Students who made recycled robots for our book study need to have their robots picked up by the end of the day on Friday. Our 3rd-5th graders have the WVGSA (writing part of this state test) on April 29. All of our K-5 students will be doing end of year benchmark testing in the next few weeks. Encourage everyone to do their best and to show what they know!

Good morning! This is a reminder that all students need to bring their $5 party cash and 10 filled plastic eggs by tomorrow. Our Easter party for k-5 is at 1:00 on Thursday. We will start out on the playground with our egg hunt, then will go to classrooms for games and treats. Spring Break is March 30- April 3.

Good afternoon, school starts back tomorrow. Please be sure iPads are charged and ready to be returned to school tomorrow. Please keep your snow packets at home. The archery team has practice after school. Today is a good day to wash coats and spray down backpacks as flu is rampant in our area and we want to keep it out of the school. We can't wait to see everyone!

Reminder to parents of bus riding students- --
On party days, like today, we have far fewer students who will be riding the bus home. This means that your student may arrive at his or her bus stop a few minutes earlier than on typical days. Please make sure you are at the bus stop to receive student a little earlier on party days. Thank you!
