Seuss Week this week

Reminder: Book Fair will be open from 3-5 today (Nov. 17) for parents/family members who may want to come in to shop. Also, tomorrow (Nov. 18) is the 60th day of school, so dress up as if it is the 1960s.

Reminder: Parent-Teacher Conferences are this evening from 5:00-7:00. Also, if any of our families are in need of Christmas gift assistance, winter coats for kids, or a turkey or ham for Thanksgiving, please contact me. I have volunteers wanting to help. I can be reached at 304-586-2041 (hit the extension for principal), or kbarker@k12.wv.us, or send a note.
Thanks! Ms. Barker

Red Ribbon Week Reminders

Tuesday, 10/26: Red Ribbon Dress-Up Days: “Use your head; Don’t do drugs.” Wear a hat and/or crazy hair today

Tomorrow, Thursday 9/30, is picture day at Confidence. Students have previously brought home an order form and should have another copy of that form today in case you’ve misplaced yours. Thanks so much and have a great afternoon!

Good afternoon,
Class t-shirt orders are due tomorrow, Friday, September 3. Have a great evening!

Our first day of school for K-5 is tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 24. Doors open right at 7:00. Students need to be in classrooms by 7:45 at the tardy bell. If your child is not eating breakfast, the ideal time to arrive is 7:25 or shortly after because they can go straight to their classrooms at that time. Be sure that your child wears a mask and has a water bottle. If you’re looking for new masks, I recently saw tons of them in kids and adult sizes at Milton’s Goodwill. We can’t wait to see you!

Open House at Confidence Elementary

Beginning tomorrow, 5/25, students in PCS do not have to wear masks for outside activities such as recess and gym. If you still want your child to wear his/her mask outside, send us a note and we will help enforce that. Students still need to come to school with a mask, and will continue wearing them in our building and on buses. Thanks!

For our in person students: iPads, charging cords, and hotspots if applicable all need to be turned in this Wednesday, 5/26. If you’ve lost your charger, have a replacement ready to turn in that day or write a check to PCS for $25 for turn in on that day.
For our virtual students: everything above will need to be dropped off at school between 8:30-3:00 on June 1. You will need to keep it a little longer than our in person students because your child’s last day of virtual instruction is Friday, 5/28.
Important!: Please take time to clean off your child’s case and iPad screen. We will inspect for damages upon return. Thanks so much!

For our IN PERSON students:
iPads and charging blocks and cords will be collected 5/26.
If you have a hotspot, it will also be collected 5/26.
Of you lost your charger, you need to have a replacement one to turn in that day or return a check made out to “PCS” for $25 on that day.
For our VIRTUAL students:
Your last day of instruction is Friday, May 28.
You will need to return your iPad, charger, and hotspot to the school between 8:30-2:30 on June 1 or June 2.
Thank you!

Good evening!
This is a reminder that our fifth graders will be testing this week. Please make sure to bring your iPad FULLY charged as well as your charging cord. Bring a water and a snack. Students will test on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week. If any student is absent, they will make up tests on Friday. Be sure to get a good night’s rest and we will see you in the morning!

The last day to register for summer programs is this Friday, 4/23. Please take advantage of the free summer school opportunities if you can! I know they are planning some really fun activities for students.

We had a successful first day of testing in 4th grade. Our students can earn an entry into a DQ drawing for good test behavior- taking time, reading carefully, staying attentive to the test, persevering through hard questions... and the winners of today’s drawing were Wyatt E. and Pamela B.
They earned a DQ blizzard of their choice for Friday. Way to go!
4th grade families:
Please make sure iPads are charged to 100% again for tomorrow.

Good afternoon!
This message is a reminder that our fourth grade in-person students begin testing tomorrow on the WV General Summative Assessment. Students will test on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. If any student is absent, we will do make-ups on Friday or next week as needed. Please bring a FULLY CHARGED iPad and charger, a water bottle and snack. Reminder: no early check outs this week as testing is untimed and a session cannot be interrupted once it begins. Thanks so much for your help and we are looking forward to seeing how our students do in the test. Please encourage your children to give it their best! :)
